Swatches & Links: Etude House Sweet Recipe Collection

Important disclaimer: none of these photos belong to me. I merely just found them and decided to organize them into one post for easier viewing pleasure. If you are the owner of any of the following photos and you don't want me to showcase them, let me know. I will be more than happy to take them off or simply link your original blog post. On another note, if you'd like to use some of these photos from this collective post, I would really appreciate it if you give me some credit (i.e. via...) as this took a lot of time to put together. Thank you~

Check out my Sweet Recipe haul here!

Etude House, you have once again outdone yourself! *claps* I've been fussing over this delightfully sweet collection before it was even released! It's just one of those collections by Etude House that really hit the spot (like the Etoinette collection)...and I knew I need to get them!! Released in Korea on February 1st, this collection features 13 items including accessories. I won't be showing you the accessories because you can't exactly swatch them and they're kind of boring compared to the other items :p

Swatches: Annabelle CC Cream

I saw this display at PharmaPlus yesterday and I believe this is the first CC Cream to hit Canadian stores!

I swatched the products and to my disappointment, they lacked pigment. The powder was chalky while the cream disappeared on my hand after I blended it. It had a nice gel consistency and a light wine mixed with plastic scent.

The only product that's worth buying is the white base which had beautiful fine golden shimmer in it. It reminds of the Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer where you can wear the product alone as a highlighter or as a medium to mix your foundation/bb cream in for a satin finish. It also had a gel consistency and spread very well. The scent reminded me of natural beeswax.

Spotted! & Swatched Up a Storm: PharmaPlus 05/22/2011

Annabelle Jungle Belle Summer 2011 Collection
I saw this at Shoppers Drug mart as well as PharmaPlus.

L'Oreal Eye Fashion for the Fearless LE Collection
I saw this at Shoppers Drug mart as well as PharmaPlus.

Sinful Colors H2O Collection
Our lovely friends in the States already got this display in their drugstores in March.

Sally Hansen Beauty Tools

This collection is massive! It is very impressive because there are 4 different types of tweezers! I wonder if the eyelash curlers are any good.

Marcelle Being a Girl Collection
I'm really grateful that Marcelle decided to do this type of project. When you purchase any one of these products, 50 cents will go to the Because I am a Girl campaign. Just a brief intro of this campaign (from their site): "Plan International's Because I am a Girl initiative is a social movement to unleash the power of girls and women to claim a brighter future for girls in the developing world."

Marcelle Lux Gloss Sheer in Sorbet
I had to play with the exposure to get the true colour of the gloss to show.

Swatched Up a Storm: Joe Fresh Spring 2011 Nail Polish in Oyster, Wave & Cloud

Exciting new for all you Joe Fresh nail polish lovers out there (including me)! If you haven't seen their website recently, I can tell you that their spring collections have hit stores. This season, for nail polishes, they have 3 different displays and I have successfully spotted 2. Mind you that the Spring 3 display that I saw at Loblaw was terribly eaten...

Spring 3 display

Joe Fresh nail polish in Wave/Oyster

Joe Fresh nail polish in Oyster
Oyster really stood out to me because it's formula really remind me of Peacock. It has a duochrome effect because in certain lighting, it appears silver. But in different angles, I can see purple and sometimes green. I can already imagine it on my toes, twinkling. The effect much like the inner shell of an oyster.

Joe Fresh nail polish in Cloud/Wave
I don't know why I decided to try on Cloud. It's a basic gray with very fine pearl shimmer in it that is very unnoticeable on the nails. Then again, I don't have neutral colours...I prefer loud and bright ones :) Did I ever mention that I absolutely LOVE pastels? I love Wave. Wave might remind you of Powder Blue. Wave is a lot lighter in terms of colour, a light almost "fluffy" baby blue, and it gives off an aura of calmness. Both Wave and Cloud is a cream finish so I'm guessing that the formula is similar to Mint and Faded Violet (review here).

In all the swatches, 3 coats were needed to achieve opacity.

Mint vs. Wave
In the photos with poor lighting, it might remind you of Mint. But I assure you that they are drastically different.

I will hunt the last display down. It looks like the package designers (perhaps graphic designers) switched up the bottle. The ones from the Spring 2 display looks squared...but strangely, I like it.

On a side note, I think I found a suitable dupe for Nicole by OPI's Nicole...Spotted! (Gossip Girl Collection 2010). It is Nail Junkie by Sinful Colors. Don't believe me? Find out for yourself. Behold:

Pinkie finger: Nicole...Spotted! Fourth finger: Nail Junkie

Sorry about the black and pink rims. It was my attempt of quick removal. I only had on one coat of each.

I saw the Nicole nail polishes on sale for $4.98CAD at Pharmaplus. Want more info and pictures? Click here!

Annabelle Day Dream Spring 2011 Collection

Le Gloss Shine in BabyDoll
All three photos were taken in natural light, it just depends on how close they were to the window.

Glitterama Liquid Eyeliner in PomPom (purple) & Majorette
1-4 are all in natural light, but 1 was right next to the window. PomPom stands out to me more because it has fine blue and purple glitter in it.

Spotted! Annabelle 4Show & Day Dream Spring 2011 Collection

The Annabelle 4Show Collection was released not so long ago but it looks like this isn't the actual spring collection. I saw this at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. Annabelle says that these products are for makeup junkies who want to express their inner artistry!

The Annabelle 4Show Collection features:

  • 4 new Annabelle Volumelip Lip Plumping Gloss in

I really like Coralicious! It's a beautiful pinky coral colour hehe I have a soft spot for corals.

4Show eyeshadow quad swatches

The eyeshadows are really lacking in pigmentation when used dry and the texture is on the harder side. Not velvety smooth :(

I also saw Annabelle's new LipStain Markers and Smoothie Eyeshadow Pencils at Shoppers but it was a different store. These two specific products are exclusive to Shoppers Drug Mart and they are also limited edition! I am always intrigued about new lipstains (still waiting on the NYC ones) so if I get the chance, I will definitely try them.

If you are dying to try out the LipStain Markers(~$8.95CAD), you better get them quick because they're limited edition >< I swatched these and they're like any other lipstain in terms of use and application. It's exactly like a marker, easy to control.

These Smoothie Eyeshadow Pencils(~$8.95CAD) are exactly how they are named: they glide on like a dream. If you've ever used an Annabelle smudgeliner, it's even smoother than that! You slick it on, wait for a minute or two, and BAM! It stays put without fading or smudging. I washed my hands with the swatches on and they didn't budge.

Grapefull stand out to me the most because it has blue shimmers in it, giving it a very mysterious effect.

Now, the actual Spring 2011 collection is called Day Dream. Featuring bright fun colours like flamboyant yellow, you're bound to scream spring (and Easter)!

This limited edition collection includes:

Annabelle tend to group all their collection releases which is rather annoying...obviously customers will send more when you release them one by one :P Anyways, I hope you found this post somewhat interesting and informative. I am not affiliated with this company, I just really like their products so I want to spread the word ^^ I'll probably be lemming most of these new products. Unfortunately, my wallet won't allow me to bring all of these home :( *sniffs* Enjoy your weekend!!! Is there something you're dying to get? Let me know!
