 I tried out the "sandwich" manicure. All I did was layer different sheer, glittery and sparkly nail polishes on top of each other and this is how it turned out.

 Glitter nail polishes are really hard to remove so I suggest using a base coat. I usually use a clear top coat as the base. The down side to this type of manicure is that it peels easily due to the multiple coats.

• Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Strobe Light (2 coats)
• Sephora Hello Kitty Liquid Nail Art in Purple Sprinkles (1 coat)
• Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Hidden Treasure (1 coat)
• Essie To Dry For Top Coat (1-2 coats)

Yumeko's Rice Cooker Recipe! The Results + Giveaway

My first batch

The lovely Yumeko shared her second rice cooker recipe on her blog and her pictures made my mouth water...excessively :P So the very next day,after reading her blog post, I was determined to track down the ingredients and I actually made it~! It turned out waaay better than I hoped it to be. The food that I usually make doesn't taste great...unless they are instant noodles or anything you make in the microwave ;D

This recipe is super easy as it only needs 6 ingredients! And you can find almost all of it in your pantry and fridge ^^ Another plus is that the cooking time is really quick (around 5-6 minutes). I just dump it all in the rice cooker, flip it once so both sides brown (crispy! Yum~!) and VOILA! Of course, it takes more time to make the dough and roll it but the final product is so good that you have to try it!

Yumeko gave us some tips which include making your own pancake mix so that the dough doesn't come out sweet and salty (a weird combination :P). I used this recipe from eHow but I modified it.  You'll need:

• 2 cups of sifted flour
• 1 1/2 tablespoon of baking powder
• 1 teaspoon of sugar
• 1teaspoon of salt (2 makes it very salty XD)

The dough turned out to be just like bread: it's rather fluffy =] So for all of you that can't get your hands on "Hotcake mix", don't worry, just substitute this instead. Another thing, if you have those smaller rice cookers that have a glass top (no button and the top doesn't connect to the body of the rice cooker), this recipe will still work! I hope you give it a try. It's super easy, quick, fun, but the outcome is huge!

Who wouldn't want a 4 foot tall stuffed toy to cuddle with? I had to give up on my hair and "sense" of fashion while travelling :P

Well, Dear Daniel was close enough for me :P This was in the lobby of Grand Hi-Lai Hotel in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I was lucky to have gone to both Hong Kong and Taiwan in the same summer ^^ If you are a Hello Kitty die hard fan (I personally know one keke~), you will be happy to know that they have special Hello Kitty suites and rooms to satisfy any HK cravings. If you happen to see the colour swatches on the Joe Fresh website, the colours are totally off. Unless I mixed up the names with their respective colours.

The colours were really similar when I saw them in the store. But you can see that Rose is a little cooler with slight mauvy undertones (a baby pink) where as Apricot is more peachy. I can't wait to see the rest of the colours!

This is the second cream eyeshadow I've seen so far. Guava is a warm pink with gold flecks in it, if I remember correctly. You can see the other cream eyeshadow in Cactus I blogged about here.

 It's a good time to try base makeup from Joe. Liquid and cream foundations and powder are all on sale! A pretty sweet deal.

Hearts. Bows. Lace.

All things that I love are blended together to create this girly and sweet "je ne sais quoi." It also shows how Spring/Summer pieces can be combined with other garments so that it can work for colder seasons ^^ I got my friend to take the photos in the store so we had to be sneaky about it. Sorry for the bad angles, this outfit doesn't actually make you look pudgy ><

And I really liked these boots($19.50CAD) that I tried on at the store. They had a zipper that runs along the back of the leg and it surprisingly did not make me look shorter than I already am!

So life has been so hectic these days. Like c'mon, I barely get the time to think. Even when I fall asleep, I dream so much that in the morning, I'm still exhuasted. Haha.

In the Mail: Blue

This is what I recently received in the mail =] They're my giveaway and contest winnings weee! The first one is from Alana (iheartmakeup85) and her 100 sub contest. I did a video tutorial and she was so nice that she gave all the participants some goodies!

She gave me not only one but two cute makeup products! The first one is a Pigment Powder Dust from Annabelle in Chiffon. Now if I'm not mistaken, this is the old version of the loose eyeshadow (check out the new one here) and this colour is discontinued unfortunately. It's a beautiful beige gold. Perfect for highlighting!

This is Lancome's Blush Subtil Delicate Oil-Free Powder Blush in Cedar Rose (top) and Aplum (bottom). Can't wait to use this! It's so natural looking and the colours seem like they would work for my medium skintone ^.^

Blue from Watercoloursky held a 500+ followers giveaway and I was lucky enough to be the bonus winner ^^ She had questions asking for suggestions and I guess my blabbing helped her a lot :D Believe it or not, her blog was the actually the first one I've ever read. Pretty much the first time I read her blog, I instantly knew I was in love with this hobby. So here I am! Thanks for being the inspiration, Blue (L)

Haha this is what she said, "however, the most helpful/insightful comments or suggestions may receive a bonus prize ;)" I had to bold the "a" part because this package is sooo generous and sweet of her. She showered me with so many things! Ahh thank you so much Blue! And she wrapped it with bubble wrap. Did i mention how fun bubble wrap is? It's rather addictive too... The first thing that caught my eye was the Sally Girl nail polish in Mango Tango. It's so tres cute and the colour looks yummy. The bottle is super teeny too which contributes to the cute factor. aha I'm really excited to try out all these goodies!

A Covergirl lipstick in 550 Powerpink. It is a nice vibrant pink with beautiful blue/aqua flecks.
