Spotted! Limited Edition Covergirl Clean Compacts

Spotted these LE CoverGirl Clean Pressed Powder compacts at Shoppers Drug Mart (currently $7.99CAD) and a portion of the proceeds will go towards getting children in Africa clean water ^^ So it's a very good cause. The only variations of the powder that I saw were the normal(brown/cheetah) and sensitive(green/snake) type. I find the oil control(blue/zebra) to be the most appealing. Sadly, they didn't carry it.

Talk about wild. rawr.

Bunnie Likes: LUSH Love Birds Soap

Source: http://www.lush.ca/
Just in times for Valentine's Day, no? Or S.A.D. (single awareness day haha)

Being a LUSH fanatic, I always have to get my hands on the limited edition goodies. Or else my heart will twist and turn...TORTURE! It's definitely one of the prettiest soaps I've ever seen. I love the pastel colours with a pop of jelly red ^^

The Love Birds soap is part of the 2011 Valentine collection which means that it is limited edition (grrr). With my luck, I didn't get the intricate and colourful part of the soap.

Top View
Claims: "We've got something even better than Love soap this year. Love Birds is a creamy cake of jasmine and vanilla loveliness that everyone should try without hesitation. It has a softer scent than Love, with a powdery sweet fragrance that reminds you of young love." -http://www.lush.ca/

Side View
Scent: LUSH had a very close description to this soap. The notes of jasmine hit you first but then you can detach a soft swirl of creamy vanilla tone to keep things a little sweeter. There is also a little zest from the lemongrass to produce a slightly refreshing splash. It's definitely powdery in a sense, but still fun and floral.

Texture: Love Birds is more creamy than the clear soaps if you know what I mean. It makes this soap firmer so it takes more force to cut it. It is not as buttery as Snowglobe from the 2010 Christmas collection. It makes a mediocre lather because it isn't as dense and foamy as I'd like it to be even when a foaming net (a net that produces a lot of foam but isn't actually used on the skin) is used.

Cut-up Chunks
Application & usage: I don't need much of the Love Birds soap in the shower, just a small chunk does wonders when used with a foaming net. However, when you rub the foam on your skin, it dissipates quickly so the fragrance doesn't cling on to the skin. I always find that there is the downside to LUSH soaps. The scent never lasts. I prefer the bath products like bath bombs and bubble bars as the scent lingers for a longer time.

Effects: I've noticed that Love Birds is more moisturizing than any of the other LUSH soaps that I've used including Honey I Washed the Kids, Lady Catrina (LE Halloween 2010) and Snowglobe (LE Christmas 2010). I can go a day or two without lotions or creams after shower. LUSH claims that it is softening but I really haven't noticed my skin turning softer due to the usage of this soap. Click here for the ingredients.

Price & availability: This costs $4.95CAD for 100g which is less than the most of the permanent soaps. It is actually quite inexpensive in my opinion. All LUSH stores and LUSH online. Currently, the Love Birds soap is sold out on both the Canadian and American website.

Overall: LUSH Love Birds soap is not my favourite scent but I do like the fact that it's more unique and moisturizing than the other soaps that I own. All LUSH soaps makes my skin kind of squeaky feeling and this does too. If LUSH can up the foam factor and scent lingering ability, it would be more than just a 7.5/10

FOB: LUSH Boxing Day Sale 2010

This year I was prepared to face the crowds and the occasional elbow to the gut...but what I wasn't expecting was a claustrophobic LUSH store! It was jam packed with people when I arrived at 10am >< The haul wasn't as big as it was suppose to be because this year, instead of buy 1 get 2 free, it was only BOGO :/ My friend and I worked out the list of things that we wanted to get but some of the stuff like the Candy Cane Bubble Bar was already sold out (I have a little story for you later.) Also, since she wasn't with me (she was at a different mall, scouting the good steals and deals) and the "game plan" changed, I had to work my way around it. Literally. The store was tiny!

Everything that was BOGO was marked (hah! no pun intended!) with a Mark sticker. Maybe to make up for the disappointing deal this year, LUSH had not only put Christmas products as part of the BOGO, certain items from their permanent line was also BOGO (Honey I washed the Kids, gifts made before November 1st, Rockstar etc.) So my supposedly funny story isn't really much in the impressive department =P But here it goes. When I arrived, I was trying to get everything that was on the list. I was supposed to get at least 2 Candy Cane Bubble Bars but to my disappointment, they were all gone! So I looked desperately around those wooden stands that they put stuff on and luckily, I grabbed the price/info stand and BAM! I see one tucked between two stands ^^ (There you have it, your lesson of the day: never give up. Seriously.)

 TO THE PURCHASE:
  • 2 Christmas Eve Bubble Bars
  • 1 Bearded Lady Bubble Bar
  • 2 Gingerbread House Bubble Bars
  • 1 Candy Cane Bubble Bar
  • 2 Winter Bath Bath Bombs
  • 2 Matryoshka(s)* **

*not sure if they use "S"s to indicate if a noun is plural in the Russian language
**my friend got them for me because she said she was horrible when it comes to buying presents, and of course, I didn't want her to buy me something when you can wait and get it for a cheaper price, thanks love! <3

Next year, depending on the amount of LUSH goodies that I'm after, I will wake up earlier, and sprint to that store and elbow anyone that's in my way..erh...kidding about the last part. Want to share about your funny boxing day experiences? You know what to do~!

I hope everyone enjoyed this seemingly brief holiday break!

here's the sneak peak :) i've got to say, they look very vibrant and colourful. they must be a heck lot of fun to use to! i can't wait to actually see them in person.

Annabelle Fall 2010 HYPE Collection & Swatches

if you follow me on twitter, or have been reading the 'chit chat' box, then you would know that i am very hyped for annabelle's new fall collection ^^ like any drugstore display, there are different versions. the one i saw at shoppers had the studio pigment eye pop instead of the newly packaged volumelip glosses while the display at rexall pharma plus had the glosses but not the pigments. either way, i was jumping and clapping my hands in joy when i saw these (well..more like in my head because the sales ladies would just think im crazy which im not *nervous laughter* clearly.)

(courtesy of Annabelle Cosmetics)

this is gonna be a long post where you're gonna see:
-swatches of multiple products
-lotta pictures
-new custom quad cases
-and much more!

Annabelle LE Custom Quad

So a while back I posted about my haul from Shoppers and I was really excited to bring this LE quad home =) They had another quad too but I bought this one instead. The green just pulled me in. ahaha You can see the other one here I'm surprised they didn't have names for them. I'll just have to make one up: Tropical Getaway? It was about $15.99CAD which isn't bad for a quad that has 4 eyeshadows and the case. I was just a little disappointed that the colours weren't as bright ast they seem. Some were pigmented but some rarely show. Texture vary from shadow to shadow as well as the amount of fall out. (blogger keeps flippin my photos. not cool)

Laguna: vibrant sea blue. satin finish. represents the sparkling waters, the pretty sky..
This one has great pigmentation. And when you put it on, the colour actually shows without having to keep layering it. The satin finish is quite nice. Not too shimmery but not at all matte. I'll be comparing this to Nymphet (another LE Annabelle Mono Shadow). Fallout is minimal. well, at least i can handle it =P It's also very smooth and velvety to touch.
Martian: light forest olive green. The shadow itself is matte but has fine shimmer shimmer. represents the lush green leaves of the coconut trees...
I was a little saddened that it didn't show up well. It's the type that has to be layered on to get the colour out of the pan. Texture is a little harder than Laguna and when you swatch it, the effect is almost like a stain. in a way ~_~ not that great... and it was the colour that got me into buying this too! arghhhh fallout is obvious probably due to the "staining" quality.
Funburst: olive gold with chunks of gold shimmer. the finish is kinda like Martian. matte but with shimmer. represents the warmth of the golden sun rays....
Meh. yes meh. just like whatever. not a shade that I really care about. I mean it's a nice beige gold but nothing that has that WOW! factor. get what I'm sayin'? Texture is really powdery and fallout is worst then Martian. It. Gets. Everywhere.it barely shows on my skin..kinda just blends...
Misted Up: velvet silver. smooth satin finish. ahhhh so smooth. represents the silver moonlight in the night.
Now if every make up fanatic must have a silver eyeshadow in their collection, like if it's a law, then u NEED this. The pigmentation is heavenly and the texture. OH-SO-SMOOTH!!!! It's like eating really creamy ice cream (dont put it into your mouth ladies >.<>

I decided to compare Laguna to Nymphet because their pigmentation varies greatly. Nymphet barely shows while Laguna is just WOWZA! Finger swatches, they look equally pigmented. Once transferred onto the skin, you can see the obvious difference. That's all folks! Ciao~!
