Spotted! & Swatched Up a Storm: PharmaPlus 05/22/2011

Annabelle Jungle Belle Summer 2011 Collection
I saw this at Shoppers Drug mart as well as PharmaPlus.

L'Oreal Eye Fashion for the Fearless LE Collection
I saw this at Shoppers Drug mart as well as PharmaPlus.

Sinful Colors H2O Collection
Our lovely friends in the States already got this display in their drugstores in March.

Sally Hansen Beauty Tools

This collection is massive! It is very impressive because there are 4 different types of tweezers! I wonder if the eyelash curlers are any good.

Marcelle Being a Girl Collection
I'm really grateful that Marcelle decided to do this type of project. When you purchase any one of these products, 50 cents will go to the Because I am a Girl campaign. Just a brief intro of this campaign (from their site): "Plan International's Because I am a Girl initiative is a social movement to unleash the power of girls and women to claim a brighter future for girls in the developing world."

Marcelle Multi-Colour Powder Blush in Timeless Charm/
Marcelle Lux Gloss Sheer in Sorbet
I had to play with the exposure to get the true colour of the gloss to show.

Spotted! L'Oreal & Revlon Limited Edition Collections

Shoppers Drug Mart
Bronze Intrigue Limited Edition Collection

The product that intrigued (haha) me the most is the L'Oreal HiP Shine Struck Liquid Lipcolor. They look highly pigmented and I really love corals ^^

This is a really good deal bundle since the Magic Perfecting Base usually retails for a high price. If you had your eye on this for a while, it's a good time to get it! The coloured primers look interesting enough =P They seem a little gimmicky to me though since coloured primers never work on me.

Zellers & Pharmaplus
Revlon Romantics Limited Edition Collection

You see those little round pots? Those are the new Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Balm. I can tell you that the texture is rather hard and slightly sticky. It applies super sheer (probably won't show up on lips) and it gives a shiny finish. It also includes a brush hidden in the top compartment. All shades have sparkles. My friend recently bought one and she told me about the product.

Random question: Would you swatch a product if it was already swatched and opened although it wasn't a tester? *Before I saw the Revlon display, one of the lip balms were already opened :/ Some had broken the seal and swatched it!*

Sample Review: L'Oréal Magic Smooth Soufflé

Remember this? When I saw this display, I decided to grab 2 samples so I can write a tiny review for you guys :) Obviously, the sample is very limited in size so my take on this product might not be as accurate as it should be. I'm thinking of a good title for this kind of post besides "sample reviews." It sounds so lame :P

Claims:

Texture:
If you've ever felt the texture of mousse, light fluffy and smooth, it's exactly like that. Another reference would be the Maybelline Dream Mousse foundation (in a jar).

The sample is really tiny so I needed at least 2 to cover my whole face. The shade is a little light on me and leans toward the pink side.

Coverage:
Here's a little test for the pigmentation of this foundation. I dabbed the product onto this freckle on my arm.

Before

Flaking. EWW.

After
Pretty much no difference. Yes, it lightened up the freckle but this means that you can't cover imperfections with this. It didn't oxidize on me but the coverage is extremely sheer. I doubt that it can be buildable because everything you put more on, it just flakes or removes the layer beneath it. However, it does cover pores (not completely) but it makes them look smaller. I wouldn't recommend this for people with dry skin or someone that is looking for a foundation that really covers. 6/10

Spotted! Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss, L'Oreal MagicSmooth Souffle, Almay Smart Shade Powder

Happy New Year Everyone! Hopefully 2011 will bring you lots of joy and excitement! I want to work harder this year and be determined to I get the job done. I tend to procrastinate....

I found all of these new displays at PharmaPlus ^^

L'Oreal MagicSmooth Souffle
I was looking if this display had samples and I was glad I found them (bottom centre.) I really type up a mini review soon with my encounters with the sample ;)

Revlon Colorburst Lipglosses and Lipsticks (new shades)
I will most likely get some once they go on sale. There's no point of forking out 10 bucks for a drugstore lipgloss...right girls? *nervous laugh*

Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Color
Looks like this is just the revamped version of their old lip colour duos, I'm not exactly sure.

The applicator looks flexible enough
 Almay Smart Shade Powder
It'd be interesting to see how they turn out.

Bye bye 2010! I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Boy, the holidays seem to just pass you by...
