NOTD: Pass the Sprinkles + Giveaways
![]() |
| With flash |

| Natural light |
I tried out the "sandwich" manicure. All I did was layer different sheer, glittery and sparkly nail polishes on top of each other and this is how it turned out.
![]() |
| Natural light |
Glitter nail polishes are really hard to remove so I suggest using a base coat. I usually use a clear top coat as the base. The down side to this type of manicure is that it peels easily due to the multiple coats.

| Natural light |
Products used (in order):
- Base coat
- Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Strobe Light (2 coats)
- Sephora Hello Kitty Liquid Nail Art in Purple Sprinkles (1 coat)
- Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Hidden Treasure (1 coat)
- Essie To Dry For Top Coat (1-2 coats)
Here are more opportunities to try out circle lenses without using a penny ^^
Jeeya's circle lenses giveaway can be found here. This ends September 30th, 2011.
If you absolutely LOVE pastels, this giveaway is for you :) Pastel Raindrops' giveaway ends October 31st, 2011 (National Unicef Day!! & Halloween). Those shoes are to DIE for!
If you've always wanted to look like a Gyaru, now's your chance ;) I believe these lenses are quite popular among Japanese gyarus. You can join Rakhshanda's giveaway here. This ends September 30th, 2011.
I hope you liked this NOTD post~! Have a lovely weekend everybody! <3

Yumeko's Rice Cooker Recipe! The Results + Giveaway
![]() |
| My first batch |
![]() |
| Second batch |
This recipe is super easy as it only needs 6 ingredients! And you can find almost all of it in your pantry and fridge ^^ Another plus is that the cooking time is really quick (around 5-6 minutes). I just dump it all in the rice cooker, flip it once so both sides brown (crispy! Yum~!) and VOILA! Of course, it takes more time to make the dough and roll it but the final product is so good that you have to try it!
![]() |
| What it looks like on the inside :) |
Yumeko gave us some tips which include making your own pancake mix so that the dough doesn't come out sweet and salty (a weird combination :P). I used this recipe from eHow but I modified it. You'll need:
- 2 cups of sifted flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1teaspoon of salt (2 makes it very salty XD)
The dough turned out to be just like bread: it's rather fluffy =] So for all of you that can't get your hands on "Hotcake mix", don't worry, just substitute this instead. Another thing, if you have those smaller rice cookers that have a glass top (no button and the top doesn't connect to the body of the rice cooker), this recipe will still work! I hope you give it a try. It's super easy, quick, fun, but the outcome is huge!

Who wouldn't want a 4 foot tall stuffed toy to cuddle with? I had to give up on my hair and "sense" of fashion while travelling :P

| By chance I received candy with the same name~ |
Well, Dear Daniel was close enough for me :P This was in the lobby of Grand Hi-Lai Hotel in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Free Candy Doll Lipgloss!
So what have our favourite Japanese model/gyaru fashion icon/singer been doing? Tsubasa Masuwaka (stage name: Milky Bunny) has been promoting her song "Bunny Days". The official release state in Japan is July 20th, 2011. If you want to see all the behind the scene and fan greeting pictures, you can go to her blog here. Note that everything is in Japanese :x (I had to use google translate keke)
I personally haven't listened to her single yet but I'm sure it's super kawaii~ Just like her bunny costume!

I'm not exactly sure how the free Candy Doll lipgloss promotion but I assume that it comes with a CD. So you'll have to buy a specially marked CD package and you'll get one, no strings attached~ I wonder if the lipgloss is a specific shade exclusive to the "Bunny Days" release or it is a permanent shade from the core Candy Doll line ^^ I believe that her CD is not yet available internationally (only available in Japan). Online stores such as yesstyle might possibly carry it sometime soon~
Let's take a closer look at the mini lipgloss :)

Spotted! Joe Fresh Pop Gloss, Cream Eyeshadow in Guava & Blush in Apricot
![]() |
| Joe Fresh Pop Gloss |

| Bottom: Joe Fresh Pop Gloss in Cosmo |
If you happen to see the colour swatches on the Joe Fresh website, the colours are totally off. Unless I mixed up the names with their respective colours.
![]() |
| Joe Fresh Cream Blush |
The colours were really similar when I saw them in the store. But you can see that Rose is a little cooler with slight mauvy undertones (a baby pink) where as Apricot is more peachy. I can't wait to see the rest of the colours!
![]() |
| Joe Fresh Cream Eyeshadow in Guava and Cream Blush in Apricot |
This is the second cream eyeshadow I've seen so far. Guava is a warm pink with gold flecks in it, if I remember correctly. You can see the other cream eyeshadow in Cactus I blogged about here.
It's a good time to try base makeup from Joe. Liquid and cream foundations and powder are all on sale! A pretty sweet deal.
Ecotools are now available at your local Loblaw :)

In the Mail: Now or Never
So I realized that although I edited the pictures of the goods I got in the mail, I totally forgot to make a post about them xD I think I have had some of the stuff either from 2010 or the very beginning of 2011...Yes, I have a great memory (to a certain extent).
A great site for Canadians samples is available. The author of this blog is none other than Justine from Productrater. Please check out her beauty blog or sample site! She updates daily and I find that she is speedier than any other site ;) Above: free Hello Kitty nail stamping plate (BornPretty, if it becomes available again, I'll be sure to update), Clairol Nice 'n Easy Foam hair dye, Chunks Ahoy! Thinsations, P&G Brand sampler (Canada & U.S.), Maybelline Fit Me foundation, Acts of Kindness (free chocolate bar), and another nail plate. The reason is because I didn't receive my first plate after 2 months. Thinking that it got lost in the mail, I contacted the person in charge (which is Jessica btw) and she was super nice and helpful and they mailed me another one. I believe their company is situated in Singapore. Their website is easy to navigate through and they have a variety of items for sale. The prices are reasonable too! I was really impressed with their kindness because I didn't expect them to mail me another one ^^

| Closer look of the Fit Me sample |
The idea of this sample is great! They have all the shades so anyone can find their perfect match (hopefully). They also instructions/info about the line and provided coupons.

| Look at the shipping fee O_o |
I won a giveaway from the wonderful Suzie! I was really interested in trying the MAC Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask. She was super sweet and generous!
I love the cute letter and stickers! I can always put post-it notes to good use. Thank you so much, hunny!
Crystal Light samples. Yum! Except I really despise the aftertaste of aspartame. This is a nice way to try new flavours.
I have one more package to post about but I have to relocate my pictures...If anyone is situated in Canada and is interested in these types of samples, be sure to follow Justine's site!

Stylish Blogger Award
This is my second blog award ^^ Thanks to Tiffany & Ella over at Milk & Cookiie!~ I never thought I'd get an award after my first one...at least, I thought I had to wait longer. Just any sweet comment already leaves a smile on my face so I was really happy when I received this~
(keke I like being stylish! Thanks girls <3)
- Thank and link back to the person(s) that awarded you with this award
- Share 7 things about you.
- Award 15 recently discovered bloggers.
- Contact these bloggers and tell them about this award.
I don't really find myself that interesting but hopefully I won't put you to sleep hehe
- I am a very hard working student and I am determined to be successful in the future. I believe in doing well in school because education is just, really important.
- I'm really tiny...only 5 feet tall :S It makes buying jeans with the right inseam very difficult. I literally have to hunt them down!
- I enjoy home cooked meals made with love. Like my mom's cooking...she spoiled my taste buds ever since I was a little girl so I'm REALLY picky when it comes to food. Well, kinda. I'd eat it to be polite but I know if it's good or not ;) rawr. *stomach growls* Thinking of all the food is making me hungry. And it's 2:03am here!
- Retail therapy works in my opinion. haha. I like to reward myself after hardcore exams or just a stressful month.
- Honesty is really important to me when it comes to making friendships and other relationships. I don't understand why people choose to lie about themselves in order for people to like them better, or just to make themselves content.
- Like Milk & Cookiie, I procrastinate A LOT. I think I might be doing it right now...whoops
- For some reason, anger is hot-wired to my tear ducts. So when I'm angry, not only can you hear it in my voice, but my eyes get watery.
I think I have to cheat too! Most of the girls that I know have been around longer then me ^^
I had fun doing this post and I hope you had fun learning a little more about me =] I hope everyone has a lovely weekend! Stay beautiful~~

In the Mail: Suzie Wuzie
Isn't her name cute? I think so. I recently received a package from her and somehow one lipstick multiplied into all sorts of things O_o Let's take a look. She was supposed to only send me this:
![]() |
| Korres Mango Butter Lipstick SPF 10 in Natural Pink 13 |
And to my surprise, I got these lovelies accompanying my first ever Korres product:
Thank you so much Suzie! I was having a bad day and this totally cheered me up as well as your undying generosity ^^ The lipstick works out to be a bright MLBB shade (loves!) and the yummy perfume smells like fresh lychee!

I've been meaning to show you guys what came in the mail throughout August to November...see how backlogged I am?! SOme of these are samples while the others are giveaway winnings. It might seem like that I'm one lucky girl but that's not really the case. oh well ><

DIY: Facial Net for Foamy Lather
| taken from http://illybaba.onsugar.com/ |
nah. it's not a net you put over your face or anything. it is actually supposed to foam up your cleanser into a rich frothy lather so that you can gently wash your face. i got my inspiration from K and for more info on facial nets, click here.
i'm sure a lot of you will have trouble finding these (like me) so i made this tutorial where you can make your own! it's rather simple ^^
what you'll need:
-a shower pouf (preferably new)
-scissors
-plastic ring (optional)
1. take your pouf and rip apart so that it's not a bundle anymore but a long scarf. the pouf should be held together by string so you can just snip it.
2. cut the scarf into desired length. you will have multiple pieces.
3. take one and tie a knot on top and attach it to a ring if you wish.
voila~! you're finished! =) wasn't that easy or what?
this actually works like a charm! it foams up my cleanser so that i don't tug my skin when i wash. you actually save lots of product and time. just a little drop, rub it with the net, and comes rich frothy lather. after, just rinse it and leave it to air dry. if you want more detailed instructions on how to use one, definitely check out K's blog post.
say hello to clean and refreshed skin!
(you can also splurge on expensive products (like cleansers) with your money saved using your face net)
hope you liked this simple and brief tutorial!
